NaNoWriMo'll be starting up soon. I'm better prepared this time around, equipped with a plot.

This is something I've tried writing three, three and a half times before. It's gotten kind of weird. The main character just can't seem to stay the same. First version, African-American male with black hair, second version, white male with brown hair, presumably, third version, white male with blond hair. Fourth version, Jewish male with dark brown hair.

Next time? He'll totally be Chinese.

But I really hope there isn't a next time. I'd probably cry.

Last year I came up with my NaNo (which I have a printed copy of now) at three AM Halloween night. As in, after Halloween, as in, the first day of NaNo. As in, bad timing. I still have no idea where that came from, by the way. Pretty confusing.

So it'll be a sort of murder mystery, young adult, highschool setting courtroom drama.

Don't ask me.

Hopefully it will actually have a body count. I'm terrible at killing people. In my script, for Script Frenzy, which is like NaNo except it's for screenplays and is in April, about the mafia, nobody died. That's not how the mafia works. Has anyone ever seen a movie involving the mafia where someone didn't die? I'm waiting for an answer, believe me.

So, what's been going on in my life?

Absolutely nothing. Which is good. Because I like doing nothing. It gives you a nice sense of non-purpose.

I've been writing every day for two hundred and ninety one days.

Shall I repeat that?

Two-hundred, and ninety-one days.

And I don't mean just 'writing' something, like, a word, or a sentence, or a paragraph, I mean I'm writing upwards of 750 words a day, which doesn't seem like a whole lot, which is why my average is 2,000 a day.

My word record is 10,101.

All in one day.

Yes, I'm bragging, but only because it's likely to never happen to me again. It was a short story, all nice and contained.

Soon I'll be to three hundred, and then I'll be at a full, three-hundred and sixty-five days.

There's not much of a reason for doing this.

I don't get anything out of it.

But habits are formed in 30 (or 14, depending on your source) days, and I've had 291 days to form this one. Pretty sure it's going to stick with me for a while.

Pretty sure 'a while' means forever, too.

Other than that, not much to say. Just that, hey, I'm still alive. And that's good.
